On Wednesday ,24th of April a lady known as Yusuf Hajara was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court 2 sitting in Yola Adamawa state allegedly pouring hot cooking oil on a man for the sake of ₦100 Naira
She was brought before the honourable court of Justice presided by Magistrate Alhaji Adamu Musa, for her offence of inflicting pain to her victim, Abubakar Adamu , over the amount of money mentioned.
While being investigated, the defendant who is from the Lakare community in Yola South LGA, Adamawa State admitted she committed the inhuman crime. The case was referred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police command by the presiding judge for further investigation due to severity of injury and the gravity of the offence .
The case was later adjourned to 8th of May 2024 , to give room for proper investigation by the police command and also to arraign the defendant for prosecution as the law demands .
Angry Hajara, poured hot cooking oil on Adamu on April 22nd 2024 , during a little quarral over the sum of ₦100 , the money was for soya bean cake Adamu Abubakar ordered for.
Adamu had a misunderstanding over payment of the money he ordered for bean cake and in the process he slapped Hajara who was frying the cake and out of anger the defendant carried her frying pan with hot cooking oil and poured it on the body of Adamu Abubakar which led to the burning of his chest, neck and back.
