Nigerian Actors Guide (AGN) National President Rollas Emeka , has confirmed the passing on to glory of Nigerian Nollywood actor, Odonwodo John Paul, popularly known in the Industry as Junior Pope.
Reports have it that the late actor Odonwodo John Paul and his colleagues who were three in number were on their way back from a movie location they had gone to shoot in a boat when their boat clashed with another boat unseen by the rider of the boat the late actor was in and capsized at Anam River in Anambra on Wednesday. It was further revealed that some victims of the boat accident held hands on the rope of a boat after it capsized while they waited for help.

The late actor began his acting career in 2006, he was been given minor roles to play in movies and during this period he kept attending movie auditions.
The key roles his was given to act were roles of Palace guard, bodyguard, driver etc
In the year 2007 Jnr Pope rose to prominence after being featured in the blockbuster movie titled “Secret Adventures” which was directed by Chikere Tchidi.
He has been featured in more than 200 Nollywood movies the likes of “The Cat”, “Wrong Initiation” “Mad Sex” “King of Vulture ” “Bitter Generation” to mention but a few.
He badged the prestigious award for Nollywood Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Entertainment Factory Awards .
Jnr pope had passion in taking part in militant, armed robbery and hitman roles in Nollywood movies alongside his colleagues , Hanks Anuku, Gentle Jack, Zubby Michael, Magnet, Sylvester Madu to mention but a few.
Best Actor in Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor of the year at the Africa Movie Academy Awards are amongst the prestigious award the late actor Odonwodo John Paul badged until his death on Thursday 11th of April 2024.
