Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has given his approval on the commencement of the 2024 National Honours Award to Phenomenal Nigerians and friends of the Nation who have contributed immensely to the development of the country in one way or the other.
The Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Minister, Mr Jisalo Zaphaniah made this known at a meeting held with the management staff of the ministry on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Special Duties minister stated that the federal government intends to also honour Nigerians who have distinguished themselves accordingly in their various fields of human endeavours.
Jisalo gave further clarity that the forms and processes that will permit any candidate to badge the National Honours were free of charge, adding that people should demonstrate high sense of integrity and desist from paying for National Honours.
By this information the general public is to keenly watch out for calls on nominations and also present various individuals who have distinguished themselves by uplifting the nation and it’s people.
He concluded by saying “This provision is in accordance with the National Honours Award Act 2004”. The Act took retrospective effect from 1963.
