The kidnap kingpins called yesterday to inform us that they have killed engineer Ogunyemi Olayinka. Furthermore the Bandits threatened to execute the remaining the remaining captives if ₦230 was not provided as ransom for their freedom. Those who are still held hostage are two siblings, a pregnant woman, two men and a one and half year old boy.

We have paid ₦23m ransom, food and other items they demanded have been sent but none of our relatives has been set free.

We appeal to the federal government and security operatives to step up all efforts and rescue our loved ones from the hands of their abductors. The bandits pointed out clearly that the country has stepped on their toes and it’s time to retaliate.
